Privacy Comparison
Last updated: May 7, 2026
The career-tools market in 2026 splits into mass-apply automation, AI resume rewriters, job-board aggregators and a few honest services. Most stuff resumes with keywords or auto-submits hundreds of generic applications. Driora does the opposite. Here is the side-by-side, with no marketing fluff.
Driora vs typical mass-apply tools
The "typical mass-apply tool" column generalises across the dominant pattern in this category. Specific products vary on individual axes; the pattern they all share is volume-over-quality.
| Axis | Typical mass-apply tool | Driora |
|---|---|---|
| Strategy | Volume. Auto-apply to thousands of jobs as fast as possible. | Signal. Make each application count. Five minutes of preparation per role. |
| Per-application time | Seconds. Auto-fill, click submit, repeat. | Five minutes. You read the report, edit if needed, send the cover letter yourself. |
| Output | Generic cover letter, mass submission. Same template across hundreds of roles. | Per-role intelligence with tailored bullets, interview prep and an audited fit score. |
| Hiring-manager view | Reads as AI-generated. Gets filtered by ATS keyword scores or manual review. | Reads like a thoughtful peer's referral. Anti-AI-tells filter blocks the obvious giveaways. |
| PII handling | Stores resume, name, email, phone indefinitely to enable repeat auto-apply runs. | Resume content is encrypted at rest. Cookieless. Data-minimised. Cached reports purge after 24 hours. |
| Auto-submit | Yes. The tool clicks submit on your behalf, often without showing you the final cover letter. | Never. Driora produces intelligence; you submit. We do not have your application credentials. |
| Visa support | None. Visa requirements are not surfaced. | Built-in H1B sponsor verification against public LCA filings. |
| AI fabrication risk | High. Most tools generate from URL alone with no source-truthing. | Four-layer fail-closed contract. See the AI Disclosure for the guards. |
| Founder accountability | VC-backed entities, no founder stake disclosed in tool output. | Solo founder. Builds the tool, uses the tool, signs every report. |
What Driora is not
A few clarifications about what we are explicitly not building:
- Not a job board. Driora works on roles you find on the company's own careers page, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday or LinkedIn. We do not host job listings.
- Not a generic LLM wrapper. The four anti-hallucination guards, the AI-tells filter and the source-anchored bullet rule are what make the output trustworthy. The model alone is not the product.
- Not a free-keywording tool. We refuse to stuff your resume with JD keywords you cannot back up with real experience. The bullets we produce are anchored to verbatim text from your actual resume.
- Not a referral or recruiter network. Driora does not have inside contacts at hiring companies. We surface what is publicly verifiable about the role and the company.
Privacy as a structural moat
Many career tools mention privacy in passing. Here is what privacy-first actually means at Driora today:
- Resumes encrypted at rest. The
resume_textcolumn in our database stores ciphertext. None of the six surveyed competitors does this as of May 2026. - PII redaction before AI. Phone numbers and similar data are stripped from the prompt sent to Claude. The model does not need them and must not see them.
- Cookieless. No analytics cookies, no ad cookies, no third-party trackers. The site uses one strictly necessary session cookie if you connect Gmail, and zero cookies otherwise.
- Magic-link auth only. No third-party OAuth (Google, LinkedIn, GitHub) for sign-in. See Privacy Policy section 9 for the rationale.
- Full sub-processor disclosure. Every third party that touches your data is listed publicly at drioracareers.com/processors with what they receive and why.
- Zero data-broker partnerships. Your data is never sold, shared with affiliates or used to enrich third-party datasets.
Falsifying metric: zero data-protection-authority complaints in any 12-month window, zero data-broker partnerships, zero use of submitted PII for advertising or for training of third-party models. If we ever break any of these, the brand line on the home page is removed the same day.
Where to verify the claims on this page
Every claim is verifiable today:
- Encryption at rest: source code at
webapp/encryption.pyand the test pinning the contract attests/regression/test_resume_encrypted_at_rest.py. - PII redaction:
tests/unit/test_pii_redaction.py. - Anti-hallucination guards: the four-layer architecture is documented at /ai-disclosure and pinned by
tests/regression/test_no_hallucinated_reports.py. - Sub-processors: /processors lists every third party with what they receive.
- Cookies: open dev tools, run a report, verify the absence.
Questions about a specific competitor
We do not name competitors on this page because the comparison stays accurate longer when it is structural rather than per-product. If you are evaluating Driora against a specific tool and want our honest read on the differences, email [email protected]. We will tell you which competitor has a feature we do not, and why.
